We were excited to be invited back on this year’s Road Trip raising crucial funds for the Salisbury District Hospital’s Charity STARS appeal. The Stars Appeal is Salisbury District Hospital’s charity (no.1052284). The aim is to raise money to create the best possible experience for patients and their families by funding extra care and equipment over and above that provided by the NHS.
Every year an eclectic collection of cars gather at Wilton House where they are welcomed by the Earl and Countess Pembroke before setting off on a scenic tour.
This year the route took the participants on a route through spectacular countryside to the New Forest, and a lunch stop at the Mayflower Hotel. A chance for cars and crew to cool down.
After lunch the route took the cars back towards Salisbury and tea at Longford Castle on the banks of the River Avon – a spectacular Grade 1 masterpiece.
Staff from Salisbury Hospital were on hand to explain just how valuable the STARS appeal continues to be to their work, enabling them to look beyond NHS funding to provide wonderful additional services for their patients.
