This great example of the legendary M3 engined Z4M coupe is offered as a private sale by one of our storage customers at an asking price of £POA

The Z4 M Coupe (E86) was introduced in 2006 and is powered by the S54 straight-six engine shared with the legendary E46 M3, and in the UK version the power output is the same 252 kW (343 hp) as the M3. The brakes and the entire rear axle are also from the M3 CS/CSL as was the faster M3 CS/CSL rack. The gearbox is a 6-speed manual ZF and a GKN mechanical limited-slip differential is fitted.

This combination, an engine declared a ‘masterpiece’ by Clarkson, and a focus on sports handling results in a car very much of its’ era, before overbearing electronics and yet a magnificent driving machine for today. With around only approximately 1135 registered in 2009 in the UK and with an astonishing 1015 still registered in 2026, these are cars that last and that people clearly hang on to.

To sum up, from an excellent review in Rush magazine: ‘In many ways, the E86 has become the perfect modern classic: classic in specification, yet modern in execution. Two decades on, the last naturally aspirated straight-six M car deserves its time in the spotlight.’

This example has possibly the best colour combination of Ruby Schwartz metallic paint and Imola Red Nappa leather. The car presents as black, but transforms with a red fleck in sunlight, whilst the interior feels just right.

The car was first registered in May 2007 at Sytner Leicester, and the current owner is only the fourth, having acquired it in January 2017 at 67690 miles. At the last MOT in September the mileage was 68069 – the car remains in professional storage with the last service and check over carried out in October 2025.

The majority of its miles were put on early, averaging 10k in the first 4 years, 6K in the next 4, and then only 1057 total since 2015.

The service book shows the running in and first oil service at the main dealer in 2007 and 2008, and then a further 2 entries in Newport in 2011 (42941 miles) and 2015 (67015 miles) and an invoice for the 2025 service.

The car presents very well having been professionally detailed and given Gtechniq EXO protection soon after the current owner acquired it. There are a couple of dings visible in certain light conditions, but these are resolvable.

Overall this is a rare car in a great specification, and having done few miles in recent year whilst in dehumidified storage stands out well against more well-used examples.

We have a file of 30+ high resolution photos showing the excellent quality of this car available to forward on request.
